Die Band wurde 1993 unter dem Namen BELLPHEGOTH gegründet. 1994 wechseln sie den Namen in THE ZEPHYR. Sie nehmen 1996 ihre erste Mini CD "Celestial evil god" auf und 1999 ein Promo Demo, welches sie als "Extreme war Metal" beschreiben. 1999 wird das erste Album aufgenommen, welches den selben geilen, schnellen Death Thrash mit kreischendem Gesang enthält. Dazu setzen sie, wie sie es richtig selbst beschreiben "Medieval, depressed accoustic guitar" ein!? Alles in allem eine sehr eigenständige Sache! Diese CDs sind mittlerweile selten. Sie spielen dannach viel Live, mit vielen einheimischen Bands, aber auch mit MORBID ANGEL, und touren ausserhalb mit KABABAK in El Salvador, und mit MANTRA in Casta Rica! Ihr neues Album 2003 ist dann lupenreiner aggressiver Thrash Metal, der alles wegbläst!! Sie haben viel von der alten 80er Thrash Schule einfliessen lassen. Die Songs sind total abwechslungsreich, voller Breaks, mit killenden Gitarren, und rotziger, kreischender Stimme! Dies ist ein Highlight für jeden Thrash Liebhaber!

THE ZEPHYR at Monte Alban / Oaxaca The band was founded in 1993 under the anme BELLPHEGOTH. In 1994 they changed the name to THE ZEPHYR. The first Mini CD, "Celestial evil god" was recorded in 1996, and in 1999 folowed a promo demo, which they discribe as "Extreme war Metal". In 1999 the first album was recorded which is fast Death Thrash, with a screaming voice. They use also, like they discribe it, "medieval, depressed accoustic guitar"!? This gives a very unique an interesting style! This CD is sold out now, and very rare! After this album they play a lot live, with many local bands, but also with MORBID ANGEL, and they play also uproad with KABABAK in El Salvador, and with MANTRA in Casta Rica! The new album in 2003 is then straight aggressive Thrash Metal, which makes no prisoners! They have a lot of 80s Thrash influences, very diverse, with tons of breaks, killing guitars and raw screaming voice! This album is essential for every Thrash Metal maniac!
