NORDHEIM ist eine der besten neuen Power Metal Bands in Brasilien! Hier ist richtiger Power Metal gemeint, wie er in den 80ern original bezeichnet wurde! Die Band wurde 1995 in Rio gegründet, und gab sich den für diese tropische Gegend sehr typischen Namen ...!! Erst 1997 spielten sie das erste Konzert, und im Jahre 2000 wird die erste 5 Track Demo CD "River of death" aufgenommen. Diese habe ich leider nicht, und kann nichts dazu sagen. Ihr Album dann 2002 ist ein voller Hammer! Hier wird richtig gut und powervoll in Richtung US Metal gespielt! Sie haben zwar auch ein Keyboard, welches aber eine total untergeordnete Rolle spielt, und nicht weiter stört. Der Sänger Helio Oliva singt wie einer der echten US Metal Götter!! Die Qualität der Band hat auch das "Mausoleum" Label in Europa entdeckt und die Scheibe lizensiert! Drummer Armando Perreira hat auch einen der besten Metal Shops in Rio (Marquee Records), der gleichzeitig das Label der Band ist. Er hat sich aber wohl aus der Band zurückgezogen, denn auf der neuen CD "Total War" Ende 2003 ist er nur noch Produzent, und ein neuer Drummer ist dabei! Auf dieser CD sind 3 neue Stücke (alle wieder volle Power), eine gute Cover Version von "Shockwave" der Belgier KILLER, und 4 Live Songs von Stücken des Albums davor! Es wäre den Jungs zu gönnen mal nach Europa herüberzukommen, da ihre Spielart des Metal speziell in Deutschland sehr willkommen ist!

NORDHEIM is one of the best new Power Metal bands in Brazil! I mean the real Power Metal, like it was originally called in the 80s! The band was founded in Rio in 1995, and they gave themselves this very usual name for their tropical home area ....! Only in 1997 they played the first concert, and in the year 2000 the first 5 track Demo CD "River of death" was recorded. I do not have this one, so can`t tell you anything about it. Their album then in 2002 is the full hammer! The guys play perfect powerful Metal in US direction!! They use a keyboard, but it is not used in overdose like with most new bands who call their music (modern) "Power Metal"! Singer Helio Oliva is in the same class as the beloved US Metal gods!! The quality of the band was also realized by the European "Mausoleum" label, who licensed it! Drummer Armando Perreira has also one of the best Metal shops in Rio (Marquee Records), which is also the label of the band. He seems to have left the band, and is now only their producer at the new CD "Total War" (end of 2003), and a new drummer is noted! The CD contains 3 new tracks (again full power), a good cover version of "Shockwave" from the Belgians KILLER, and 4 live songs of tracks from the album before! It would be great if their label gets them over to Europe, as especially in Germany their style of Metal is very welcome!!

O NORDHEIM é uma das melhores bandas novas de Power Metal do Brasil, como ele era originalmente chamado nos anos 80! A banda se formou no Rio de Janeiro em 1995 e que nome diferente para uma banda nativa da área tropical...! Somente em 1997 eles se apresentaram pela primeira vez e em 2000 um CD demo com 5 faixas foi gravado. Não possuo este, portanto, não posso falar nada a respeito. O álbum de 2002 é um verdadeiro petardo! Os rapazes tocam um Metal perfeito, na linha norte-americana. Eles usam teclados, mas não em overdose, como a maioria das novas bandas que chamam suas músicas de Power Metal (moderno)! Vocalista Hélio Oliva tem a mesma classe dos amados deuses do Metal norte-americano. A qualidade da banda foi também notada pela gravadora européia "Mausoleum" que licenciou o álbum, O baterista Armando Pereira tem uma das melhores lojas especializadas em Metal do Rio (Marquee Records) que é a gravadora da banda, inclusive. Parece que ele deixou a banda e que agora é apenas o produtor do novo CD "Total War" (final de 2003) e um novo baterista foi contratado. O CD contém 3 faixas novas, uma versão boa da capa "Skockwave" dos belgas do KILLER e 4 faixas ao vivo do álbum anterior. Seria muito bom se a gravadora os trouxesse para a Europa, para a Alemanha especialmente, já que o estilo da banda é muito bem vindo !!!
