CHICAS DE METAL ARGENTINO (mehr Fotos weiter unten!)

Dieser Report ist chronologisch geordnet, und umfasst Bands mit Sängerinnen, oder All Girl Bands, die nicht in die anderen Abteilungen passen, weil sie mehr softer Hard Rock, oder totaler Untergrund sind. Die Bands VIVIAN BLACK; CARINA ALFIE/LUNATYCAS, BOANERGES; SARKASTICA und LAS BRUJAS sind bekannt genug, und in den Hauptseiten. Fotos zu den jeweiligen Bands findet ihr in der englischen Abteilung etwas weiter unten!
Frauen gibt es an der Metal Front grundsätzlich weniger, aber in der Latino Macho Gesellschaft haben sie es natürlich noch schwerer. In der Anfangszeit des Metal in Argentinien hatte diese Musik auch einen ganz besonders schlechten Ruf, und viele Leute meinten, besonders Mädchen hätten dort nichts zu suchen. Aber es gab zum Glück immer einige Mädels, die sich trotz aller Hindernisse ihren Weg auf die Bühne freikämpften. Hier ist nun die Geschichte der Underground Acts, und der nicht so straighten Metal Bands mit Frauen am Mikro

LA TORRE (Der Turm)
war die Band mit Patricia Sosa als Frontlady. Anfang der 80er machten sie etliche Platten, und wurden von ihrer Plattenfirma reichlich gepusht. Viel Interesse erzeugten sie mit ihrem Hard Rock und Pop Mix aber nicht. So löste sich die Band nach 1988 auf, und Patricia gab dannach einige Pop Solo Alben heraus. Die LPs sind: "La Torre" 1982, "Viaje a la libertad" 1983, "Solo quierro Rock`n Roll" 1984, "Presas de caza" 1986, "La Torre en accion" (live) 1986, "Movimiento" 1988, wobei die ersteren mehr Hard Rock enthalten.

PURPURA
ist selbst in Argentinien sehr unbekannt. Sie machten zwei Hard Rock Alben mit 70er Einflüssen: "Purpura" 1983 und "Purpura II" 1984. Die Band wurde 1981 gegründet, und konnten schon 1982 an dem grossen "BA Rock" Festival teilnehmen. Sie spielten mit vielen relevanten Bands der Zeit, wie RIFF und V8. Es wurden sogar 2 Videoclips gedreht, "Camine a la capital" und "Hoy pienso que to de esta bien", was die Band aber auch nicht viel bekannter machte. Im Dezember 1984 kam es zum Split. Sängerin Leonor Marchesi zog später nach Spanien, und sang 1986 auf der dritten LP von SANTA "Templario". Später machte sie noch 2 Alben unter eigenem Namen: "Encrusijada" (1993) mit Dave Holland (ex Judas Priest) auf dem das gesamte Material von Produzent Dennis Herman geschrieben wurde, und "Rosas de Metal" (1998), welches ihr eigenens Material ist. Beide Alben enthalten sehr soften Hard Rock. Gitarrist Osvaldo Grecco ging auch nach Spanien und hat dort die Band GRAN JEFE, und auch Basser Ferando Ortega folgte in dieses Land.

PUNISHER
war die Band um die Sängerin Andrea Eberon, die mit ihrem Bruder Adrian Eberon und anderen Metal Kriegern an der absoluten True Metal Front kämpften. Ihre Schlachtengesänge sind guter, rauher, traditioneller Metal, angeführt von der dunklen Stimme Andrea`s. Nach Demos 1995 und 1997 brachten sie 1998 ihr Album "Kyballon" auf Kassette heraus. Sie waren Teil der Bewegung gegen die etablierte Metal Presse, die leider nicht immer mit fairen Mitteln kämpft. Die Lyrics sind natürlich alle sehr "True", und handeln von der Metal Kameradschaft, dem Kampf des Undergrounds u.s.w. Diese Bewegung unterstützt auch die kleinen Bands im Inland, und sie tourten auch in den entlegensten Ecken des Landes und bis Paraguay und Bolivien. Eine beachtliche Leistung, denn selbst grössere Acts verlassen kaum den Grossraum Buenos Aires. Es sollte 2001 endlich ein CD Album von ihnen geben, doch leider haben sie sich aufgelöst, da fast alle christlich erleuchtet worden sind! Nur Drummer Adrian hält noch zur Fahne.

KRIST waren eine sehr softe Hard Rock / AOR Band. In welcher Zeit sie esistierten war noch nicht herauszufinden. Auf dem gelichnamigen Demo singt Silvina Gaddi (und spielt Keyboards). Den anderen Song übernimmt Gitarrist (und wohl auch Band Leader), Alfredo Bonetti. Name und Cover lassen eine christliche Band vermuten, die 2 Songs des Demos: "Lejos de ti" und "De nuevo" lassen aber nichts dergleichen erkennen!

KRONOS
ist eine der jüngsten, und unbekanntesten Bands im Lande. Die Jungs hatten erst eine Death Metal Band die CANCERVERO hiess. Nachdem Veronica Carracedo 1996 als Sängerin in die Band kam änderten sie den Namen, und spielten traditionellen Metal. 1998 machten sie das Demo "Despues de la tormenta", mit 4 guten typischen Metal Songs. Später ist Veronica ausgestiegen, und die Band hat jetzt einen Chico als Sänger.

KERIGMA
ist sicher eine der ungewöhnlichsten Bands in der Szene. Die Sängerin Teresa Gerbasi ist eine 46 jährige Mutter, und es sind auch zwei ihrer Söhne in der Band: Andres Aleppi als Bassist, und Horacio Aleppi als zweiter Vocalist. Sie gründete die Band 1989 und nahm 1993 das Demo "Get the truth" auf. Dies war Thrash Metal mit englischen Lyrics. Die Söhne kamen danach in die Band, und ich möchte mal wissen, ob das die einzige Band in der Welt ist, wo eine Mutter ihre Kinder zu extremer Musik "verführt" hat? Zusammen nahmen sie 1996 das Demo "Depredadores" auf, mit spanischen Texten und technischem Thrash mit Death Metal Stimmen. Heute spielen sie reinen Death Metal. Die Texte scheinen christlich zu sein.

NEVEN-KA
ist eine sehr interessante Frau aus der Stadt Mar del Plata. Sie ist eine totale "Ein Frau" Band und spielt alle Instrumente selbst. Nur manchmal lädt sie Gitarristen für Aufnahmen ein. Die Musik ist simpler Rock mit vielen Keyboards, Drumm Computer und Gitarre. Nur einige Songs sind in die Hard Rock Richtung. Viele Songs haben ethnische und spirituelle Einflüsse.
Es scheint, dass sie manchmal auch Live mit Gastmusikern spielt. Es ist schon beeindruckend wie sie da als Einzelkämperin alleine ihr Ding macht, und schon eine ganze Latte von Veröffentlichungen vorweisen kann, die meistens auch noch richtig professionell gemacht sind! 1994 startete sie mit der 10 Song Kassetten Demo "Neven-Ka", und 1996 das 16 Song Kassetten Demo "Magia y Fuego". 1998 nahm sie das Album "Mystic Woman" auf, und "Rock in Mantras" folgte, eine CD in Hindu Sprache und Mantra Musik! Im Jahre 2000 wurde das Album "Old Stories" released, welches zur selben Zeit auch als spanische Version "Viejas Historias" herauskam! Das ist schon mal ein beeindruckender Output!

HABEAS CORPUS
sind eine Band aus Gualeguay in der Provinz Entre Rios mit den Mitgliedern Claudio Abrahäm (Gitarre) Laura Balzer (Sängerin), Juan Martin Caraballo (Gitarre),Pablo Sturzenegger (Drumms) und verschiedenen Bassisten. Sie existieren seit 1998. Ihr Stil soll traditioneller Metal mit progressiven und folkloristischen Einflüssen sein! Leider sind sie aber unfähig mir einmal Material zu schicken!

ANA DAVIS brachte 1995 ein Demo mit 3 Tracks heraus. Ihre Stimmer erinnert ein wenig an LEE AARON, und die Musik ist im Stil von dern späterer Alben, nach ihrer Metal Zeit! Es wird also Rock bis Hard Rock geboten. Der Gitarrist war Niko Takara, der später bei SIMBIOSIS spielte (der Trend Band von MALON Drummer Pato Strunz). Weiter ist mir nichts über die Dame bekannt.

Es gibt noch mehr Bands mit Chicas am Mikrofon, aber von diesen konnte ich kein Material und Infos besorgen. In den 80ern gab es die Hard Rock Bands MAGNUM 44 mit der Sängerin Cristina Dhal (zusamen mit KAMIKAZE Basser Roberto Cossedu), SEX APPEAL mit Sängerin Susan Carr (die aus Deutschland kam!), HERTZ mit Sängerin Patricia Lloret, SAGA mit Leila Canete am Mikro, SUPER RATON mit Sängerin Roxana Goudard und KRAKEN mit der Sängerin Katy Isabel! Etwas später gab es die Mädchenband EXEROICA aus Mar del Plata die auch Hard Rock gespielt haben sollen (mit den Mitgliedern Ana, Andy, Nanxi und Nora). In den 90ern gab es eine Mädchenband in der Stadt Mendoza, die CLARO OSCURO hiess, und in der Provinz Salta soll es eine Mädchenband geben, welche Ende der 90er alle erst um die 15 Jahre alt waren!?.
In anderen Musik Stilen gibt es natürlich auch weibliche Musiker, zum Beispiel PENADAS POR LA LEY, die Punk spielen, und SUGAR TAMPAXX, die Punk und Grunge mixen.
Als Fans gibt's nicht mehr und nicht weniger Chicas im Publikum, als bei uns. Bei internationalen Bands sollen es viel mehr sein und bringen Musiker wie Kai Hansen ins schwärmen.

CHICAS DE METAL (Covers see in the German chapter!)

Woman in the Hard Rock business are always few, but in the Latin machismo society they have it even harder. In the beginning of Metal in Argentina, this music had a very bad reputation, and most people thought that especially girls have to be kept away from this dangerous scene. But there were always some girls who fought their way through all obstacles, to finally stand on stage.
The story of BOANERGES; VIVIAN BLACK; CARINA ALFIE/LUNATYCAS; LAS BRUJAS and SARKASTICA I have already told in the main sections. Here now is the story of the not pure Metal and underground acts!

LA TORRE (the tower)
was a band with Patricia Sosa as the front Lady. In the beginning of the 80`s they made a lot of albums and they got pushed a lot by their record company. But the people didn`t care too much about their part Hard Rock part Pop Music songs and they never sold well. So after 1988 the band split up and Patricia produced since then only Pop albums under her own name. The records were: "La Torre" 1982; "Viaje a la libertad" 1983; "Solo quierro Rock `n Roll" 1984; "Presas de caza" 1986; "La Torre en accion" (live) 1986; "Movimiento" 1988

PUNISHER
was the band around the front woman Andrea Eberon from the extreme True Metal front. Their style was good rough traditional Metal with her dark voice. After demos in 1995 and 1997 they sold in 1998 a cassette album called "Kyballon". With the underground movement against the established Metal magazines they were closely related (they sometimes fight with unfair means). The lyrics were of course absolutely "true", about the Metal brotherhood in the underground e.t.c. This movement supports also all the underground bands in the countryside and they toured all over the country and till Paraguay and Bolivia. Normally most of the bands just play around greater Buenos Aires. There were recording already for a CD but split end of 2000, because most of the members became Christians!

KRIST was a very soft Hard Rock / AOR Band. I could not find out yet in which time they existed. At the self titled demo sings Silvina Gaddi (and plays keyboard). The other song is done by guitarist (and suppose to be band leader) Alfredo Bonetti. Name and cover let you guess it is a christian band, but the 2 songs of the demo: "Lejos de ti" and "De nuevo" show no message like this!

KRONOS
is one of the youngest and unknown bands in the country. The boys had first a Death Metal band called CANCERVERO and after Veronica Carracedo came into the band as the new singer 1996 they changed the style to traditional Metal. 1998 they made a demo called "Despues de la tormenta" with 4 good typical Metal songs. Later Veronica left the band, and they have a male singer now.

KERIGMA
must be one of the most unusual bands in the world. The Singer Teresa Gerbasi is 46 year old mother and her sons are also in the band: Andres Alippi on the bass and Horacio Alippi as a second vocalist. The music is simple Rock with a lot of keyboard, drumm computer, and with guitar. Some songs are in the Hard Rock direction. Some songs have ethnic and spiritual influences. Seems that she sometime perform also live with some guest musicians. It is impressing how she fights alone, and has already recorded a lot of material! HABEAS CORPUS
are a band from Gualeguay in the province of Entre Rios with the members Claudio Abrahäm (guitar, and main song writer), Laura Balzer (singer), Juan Martin Caraballo (guitar),Pablo Sturzenegger (drumms) and different bass players. They exist since 1998. The style is suppose to be traditioneller Metal with progressive and folkloristical influences! But sadly they are unable to send me their material!

There are more bands with female members around but it was not possible for me to get in contact with them and get their material. In the 80s there were the Hard Rock bands MAGNUM 44 with singer Cristina Dhal (together with KAMIKAZE bass player Roberto Cossedu), SEX APPEAL with singer Susan Carr (who came from Germany!), HERTZ with singer Patricia Lloret, SAGA with Leila Canete on the micro, SUPER RATON with singer Roxana Goudard and KRAKEN with singer Katy Isabel! At the same time exist also the all female Hard Rockers EXEROICA from Mar del Plata (with the members Ana, Andy, Nanxi und Nora). In the 90s there was in the town of Mendoza a band called CLARO OSCURO, and another band in the Province of Salta where the girls were just around 15 years of age!?
In other music genres their are of course also females around. PENADAS POR LA LEY play Punk / HC and SUGAR TAMPAXX a mix of Punk and Grunge.

CHICAS DE METAL

Las mujeres en el negocio del Hard Rock siempre han sido pocas,pero cuando hablamos del machismo en la sociedad latina,a la mujer se le hace mucho mas dificil. En el principio en Argentina esta musica tenia una malisima reputacion, y por lo general la gente pensaba que en especial las chicas deberian alejarse de esta escena tan peligrosa. Pero siempre hubo mujeres que sobrepasaron estos obstaculos, y consiguieron su camino hacia la tarima (stage). La historia de BOANERGES, VIVIAN BLACK, CARINA ALFIE/LUNATYCAS, LAS BRUJAS, y SARKASTICA, ya las he cubierto, pero ahora, esta es la historia de las bandas de chicas que no son Metal puro o estan "underground".

LA TORRE
Fue una banda con Patricia Sosa como cantante. Al principio de los 80s esta banda grabo muchos discos y fue empujada y bien promocionada por su disquera. Pero la verdad es que a la gente nunca le gusto mucho su mezcla mitad Hard Rock mitad pop, y nuca vendieron bien. Asi que en 1988 se separaron y Patricia empezo una carrera como solista tocando solo musica pop. Los discos son, "La Torre"-1982, "Viaje A La Libertad"-1983, "Solo Quierro Rock`n Roll"-1984, "Presas De Caza"-1986, "La Torre En Accion" (En directo)-1986, "Movimiento"-1988.

PUNISHER
Esta es la banda que rodeaba a la cantante con un estilo mas extremo y Metal, Andrea Eberon. Su estilo era un Metal bastante fuerte que armonizaba con su voz que se podria catalogar como oscura. Depues de varios demos en el 1995 y 1997, vendieron un album en kct llamado "Kyballion". Con el movimiento subterranio en contra de las revistas de Rock establecidas ellos tenian una relacion muy cercana (a veces peleaban sin razon). Las letras eran porsupuesto verdaderas en el sentido de la union y la hermandad entre los "Metaleros", "Underground", etc. Este movimiento apoyaba tambien a las bandas de la ciudad y tocaban por todo el pais y llegaban hasta Paraguay y Bolivia. Normalmente las bandas solo tocaban alrededor de Bueno Aires. Ya estaba grabada una produccion para un CD pero se separaron en el 2000 por que la mayoria de sus miembros se hicieron Cristianos.

KRONOS
Es una de las bandas nuevas y menos conocidas del pais. Los chicos tenian primero una banda de Death Metal llamada CANCERVERO y cuando Veronica Carracedo entro a la banda como la nueva cantante cambiaron su estilo a Metal tradicional. En 1998, grabaron un demo llamado "Despues De La Tormenta", con 4 temas de buen tipico Metal. Mas tarde Veronica deja la banda y ahora tienen un cantante masculino.

KERIGMA
Debe ser una de las bandas mas inusuales del mundo, la cantante Teresa Gerbasi es una madre de 46 aņos y sus hijos son musicos de la banda, Andres Alippi en el bajo y Horacio Alippi como segundo vocalista. Ella formo la banda en el 89 y grabaron un demo llamado"Get The Truth" en el 93. Era un Thrash Metal con letras en ingles. Sus hijos entraron a la banda despues y me pregunto si esta sera la unica banda en el mundo donde la madre ha seducido a sus hijos a entrar a la musica extrema.

HABEAS CORPUS
se forma a fines de 1998 en la ciudad de Gualeguay, provincia de Entre Rios. Este proyecto surge de Claudio Abrahäm (guitarrista y responsable de la mayoría de las composisiones), a este proyecto se suman Laura Balzer (Vocalista) y Juan Martin Caraballo (guitarra), Pablo Sturzenegger (Batería) y diversos bajistas, atravez del tiempo. Con esta formación la banda empieza a trabajar en la busqueda de un estilo propio dentro del "Metal clasico" y "progresivo", que basicamente la raiz de su estilo es esa pero su obras tienen mucho formato de "cancion" lo cual para la zona ha resultado bastante original el grupo, sobre todo porque en Argentina no es tan normal que sea vocalista mujer. Además los integrantes de Habeas Corpus tienen mucho contacto con la musica folclorica lo cual amplia el espectro compositivo muchisimo. Se dedican de lleno a las giras por la provincia de Entre Rios, obtenen buena recepción del publico, y comparten escenario con muchas bandas de Metal y de otros estilos tambien. Tristamente la banda es incapaz de mandar me su material!

Hay mas bandas con feminas en el "line up" pero se me ha hecho imposible contactarme con las mismas y conseguir su material. En las 80s existan las bandas de Hard Rock: MAGNUM 44 con cantante Cristina Dhal (juntos con KAMIKAZE bajista Roberto Cossedu), SEX APPEAL con cantante Susan Carr (que vive antes en Alemania) , HERTZ con cantante Patricia Lloret, SAGA con cantante Leila Canete, SUPER RATON con cantante Roxana Goudard y KRAKEN con cantante Katy Isabel! En lo mismo tiempo hubo una banda de Mar del Plata de Hard Rock, se llama EXEROICA, donde todas eran chicas (con los miembros Ana, Andy, Nanxi und Nora). En las 90s fue una banda llamada CLARO OSCURO, en el pueblo de Mendoza que esta compuesta solo de chicas y otra en la provincia de Salta donde las chicas que la componen fueron en sus 15 aņos.
En otros generos tambien ha habido feminas, PENEDAS POR LA LEY- Punk, HC y SUGAR TAMPAX mezclan Punk y Grunge.
